My Favourite Recipe
You will need:
2 or 3 Onions, chopped or diced
Mince meat (Lamb for Shephers Pie, Beef for Cottage Pie)
Carrots, peas and sweetcorn
Mashed potato (I use instant as it’s quicker)
Cut the carrots, and onion.
Brown the mince and onions in a hot pan.
Add a cup or 2 of water (not too watery) to make the stock.
Add the peas, carrots, sweetcorn to the pan and cook for about 8 minutes.
Take the mixture and line an oven proof dish.
Make the mash, in my case just by adding water and butter to the mash mix.
Cover the mixture with the mashed potato.
Preheat your oven to 190ºC or 370ºF or Gas mark 5.
Cover the mash with a bit of butter or oil.
Bake for about 25 minutes or until it bubbles over.
Grate some cheese on top or some herbs.
Serves: 4 to 6 people comfortably.
